In celebration of the fifth annual Bioenergy Day, Koda Energy would like to invite you to their facility. The event will take place at Koda Energy (975 3rd Avenue West, Shakopee) from 11am-1pm on October 18.

Shakopee, Minn. – Today at 3:03 p.m., Koda Energy experienced an incident in which the pressure of smouldering biomass product caused panels to be released from a fuel storage bin. Koda Energy employees shut down the affected system and contained the incident to a small area. This incident occurred in the original part of the facility, not in the new part that opened earlier this year.

Dear Neighbor:

I am happy to let you know that on February 12th, Koda Energy returned to full biomass-produced energy output.

As you know, we suspended operations following a fire on our property in April 2013. The cause of the fire was determined to most likely be an ember from a piece of equipment igniting a dust particle or wood chip, which ignited material in two of our silos. This determination helped inform our planning process as we began making decisions about our future operations.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. – Koda Energy announced today that it has reopened its biomass facility with a new design to enhance safety, increase reliability, and reduce emissions. Koda suspended operations on April 25, 2013, when a fire started in two of the facility’s silos that contained wood chips and oat hulls.

I am writing to let you know about the work coming up at Koda Energy over the next several months to help get our facility back in operation. As you know, we suspended operations on April 25 due to a fire on our property.

First, I want to apologize for any inconvenience that incident might have caused you and your family. The cause of the fire remains undetermined.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. – Koda Energy announced today that it will begin reconstructing its biomass facility with a new design to enhance safety, increase reliability, and reduce emissions. Demolition of the present buildings will begin on July 18, in response to new plans that followed an April 25 fire in two of the facility’s silos that contained wood chips and oat hulls.
